um. that sucks terribly, but all i can think of is why there is so much bondo on the bedside that it would crack? should have been metalfinished and then skimcoated. wouldnt have happened and you would have had a lot better chance to fix it. good luck, i hope insurance covers it so you can finsihs the thinkg.

the reason of the crack is because thats where the new bed rail was welded to the existing bedside, and because of the angles of the panels i had to use marglass to fill it...

heres what you do. make a half way "attempt" to fix it. like pop some of the dents out, spray some primer over the areas ect. go back to the same guys house. get in his car and leave. but this time just drive like around the block or something then park where you can see it. if the person is that much of a douche to do that, he will see the fresh body work areas and decided to add to it. once he starts going at it again, you roll up and take out your aggressions on him as you please. :-D

i work at a body shop and the thing is the truck is 7years old so dont come to the ins company with a big estimate or they may want to total the truck out...my friend had a b/d 2002 s10 that needed a bedside and door they totaled it out paid it off and let him keep the wrecked truck with a clear title which he still drives your best bet is to go to dealers like ford to get a quote on a new 3000 bed and get them to cut you a check and buy a 500$ junkyard bed or get two new bedsides and use your custom floor and skin

yes with bed sides which would be alot of hours of metal work, combo skin, one off bed floor, shave taillights, gas door, shave bed rails, wheel tubs, than bodywork all that. I would say yes to bed sides if it were just that, bed sides. its not.

your right, but metal working that bed back into half decent shape will take twice as long. let alone you have a HUGE crack down the side of it from filler. should have been metal worked and welded.
