safe way to drill into fiberglass dash

I want to add a little trinket to my dash board. It has a thin coat of fiberglass over the entire thing and I dont want to chip the paint doing it. Any suggestions?

im not sure that you can keep the glass from lifting once its drilled but to keep it from chipping i would probably put some tape down and drill threw the tape. never done it, just what came to mind.

tape down and drill a small pilot hole , going slow.

Yep, just like they said above, a heavy masking tape and go SLOW! If the hole you need to make is large, then start small and progressively get bigger.

No promises, but this is your best shot, depends on how strong the glass is.

could try a glass/tile bit.. its a lot finer.
