Bed sides....

Alright, so I've got some damage to the passenger side of my bed. I found another bed for cheap, but it has some damage to the driver side. How hard would it be to pop off the good side and transplant it to the one on my truck now? It's a 99 ext cab S10...If anyone has done it and has any advice, let me know...thanks!

It can be a bit of a pain in the ass. Where is the damage at on the other bed?

you would want to grind off the spot welds from the bedside of your truck, so the metal behind is still good. and drill the ones on your parts bed. that way you have holes and a backer. there will possibly be areas that are small beads. grind those off and replace them. then weld it all back together. depending on the damage, it might be easier to just fix your bedside. i do this stuff at work all the time...

That is definitely the correct way to do it Joe. I was wondering more if it might be in a place where he could cut the damaged part of the bed out and just section a new piece in. It is much easier than the tedious work of drilling and cutting out the bedside he wants to use. we put used quarters on here at work sometimes and they are always a pain in the ass. A bedide is a little bit easier though.

The damage on the other bed is a big indent on the lower back quarter behind the wheel wheel, from the wheel well to the backside curve. The damage on my bed is pretty much from the passenger wheel well up and back, just that whole side...
