Can you post some pictures?
I know what im about to say im going to hear isnt possible, So please try on just a random side window. Im choppin my 95 blazer and faced with alot of side glass that needs to be modified. So me and my dad in all are wisdom decide to figuire out a way to cut tempered glass. I know not possible right, well we did and when i got to work one day this weekn ill take pictures. we got the idea from watching to many movies. so we decided to tape the the living hell out of both sides of that glass drew a cut line and started running down it with a air cut off wheel, but we had to go xtremely slow and keep moving so no one part heated up. alright bring on that not possible comments, o well the minitrucker who says it isn't possible is being passed by the one that did it. All else fails lexan, sucks that itll scartch over time, but it keeps a roof on the truck, and ull have a crazy chopped mazda. GOOD LUCK
I would like to see the pictures when you get some lunatiksblazer. I have heard of people using cutoff wheels before. I am getting ready to help chop my friends 98 Ranger.
Try to find some side glass out of a car thats about the shape you need. Thats what Miles did. Make a template and scrounge the junkyards.
it sucks cause the frame that holds the door glass is my problem its not the glass its self i have friends that work at a glass shop ... i will try to post some pics day some time but just look at a door fame for the glass and look at the curve part with a five inch chop i not shur its going to work ... whats the most anyone has chop a mazda with top back on not a convert....
i had to cut the door frame and strech it and were it curves in the front and i chopit the curve is not a sharp enough angle i think
id like to see pics of that cut tempered glass, not only sittin on the bench cut..but IN the truck...id be willing to bet almost anything its gonna be broken by the time you get it installed or shortly after, as far as your dilemma josh, you should have cut it before or after the curve..not IN the curve
it didnt cut it in the curve.... i cut it on the straight part at the top going with the roof and i cut it where it comes up the windshield...
I also believe I have seen it done with a wet tile saw over on the HAMB a few times now. It's possible to cut tempered glass, just not easy.
