My handbrake is the body laying on the ground. Tossed mine a couple years ago.

Ouch!! Taht had to suck. We ahve no inspection here in Florida, so I guess that makes it easy to do pretty much anything we want. Check into getting some steel braided line for it. That would look good, and be functional. Also, what about running it through the frame, as in cutting a small hole and passing it through.

Check out LOKAR products, they make goodies for street rods and have a good selection of parts like cut to fit cable kits with black or braided jacketing on the cable sleeves and universal floor mount handles. My room mate used one on his Nissan and it worked great. All the parts were user friendly and easy to adapt. Got rid of all the underdash parts asociated with the stock setup in his truck. Check em out, see if they have anything that will work for you. PS to anyone reading this from Ontario Canada reading this, make sure that your truck has a functioning e-brake. If you get pulled over and the cop starts giving your truck the once over they will check. Its an automatic plate pull if you don't have or it doesn't work, no ticket. Don't ask how i know, lol. Just a heads up...

Will your state allow a hydraulic handbrake, or only a separate system with a cable?I just picked up one of these for a drift project, but it would work well in a truck, too- no more cables.Hydrualic Handbrake Link

However, many states require an independent braking system, in case you lose hydraulic pressure. Good luck!
