check the fuel pump ground first...its back by the tail light wires on the drivers side frame rail...sounds like the pump is going out tho...there is also a fuel pump relay behind the dash on the pass side (if your wiring is still stock)...check that

when's the last time you changed your fuel filter? after mine was in my buddy's body shop for a year and a half, it ran fine for 2 weeks, then it would'nt start. it'd crank and turn over then die. i let it sit, tried it the next morning, no problems. was fine for a week or so, then same thing happened. my fuel filter was clogged from sitting for so long. we started it every couple of weeks or so, but it still got jacked up. i say try that, especially if it's been sitting for a while when you bd it.

thanks guys! by any chance does any one know were that relay is under the dash? i know there the ones that were on the fire wall n i replaced them. also is there a way to hard wire the pump - put power to it to make sure it is the pump n does any one know what wires would be hot?

JUST WENT THROUGHT THIS AND THEN SOME:
1.IF YOU HAVE A BAD PUMP,PULL THE BED TO GET ACCESS TO THE SENDER THEN REMOVE PUMP REPLACE.
DO NOT RUN YET
2. CHANGE INLINE FILTER, LOCATED UNDER D/S CAB CORNER ON INSIDE OF FRAME RAIL
3.STILL NO START, IGNITION CONTROL MODULE UNDER DISTRIBUTER CAP.
4.OIL PRESSURE SWITCH LOCATED NEAR OIL FILTER
5.COMPUTER(ITS CHEAP)
6.SENDER
7.TAKE NOID LIGHT TO INJECTORS, MAKE SURE THEY ARE FLASHING IF NOT REPLACE
8.FUEL RELAY AT FIREWALL, ITS THE P/S SIDE ONE
9.NO MORE FUEL PROBLEMS EVER, UNLESS ITS S LINE
