H1 bulb burnout

I've installed a set of projector beam headlights in a Ford Focus. About a week after initial installation, the pass. side low beam burnt out. Now, one month later, while using a PIAA 75w, the same burnt out again. We've checked the wiring and it's not that. The bulb base looks overheated. I'm gonna try rewiring the OEM wiring with 10 or 12 gauge and see if that helps. If nothin' might have to use a low impedance resistor. Suggestions or ideas, they'll help.

upgrading the the gauge of the wiring should solve the promblem but if it doesn't you could put a 30 amp relay before the bulb thats what i did when i ran into this problem in the past.

You know, that's not a bad idea. I had recommended that to him before I installed them, just to maintain bulb efficiency and luminosity, but he didn't want to spend the extra bucks. Never thought about it to solve this problem...thanks!
