already been doing the local glass shop thing, everyone said they can cut the wind shield down, they said they can cut flat glass for all my quater windows because they should damn near be flat after the roof is lowered, but my biggest problem child is that giant rear hatch, the doors im pretty cofident i can keep stock glass in them
a glass company can not cut tempered glass without a specific machine, something most glass shops dont have.
front windshield is no big deal, its laminated.. your rear glass is tempered, you're best bet is to see if a glass shop can get you one made out of annealed glass or a smaller version in tempered.
newer vehicles are a pain and having to cut the glass b/c its 99% tempered
i've seen people cut the windshield with a cutoff wheel. Maybe they had a diamond wheel or something i dunno but i've seen em do it.
even if your side glasses will be flat after the chop you will still need to have some kind of safety glass in them i.e laminated or tempered. If they are flat you can have the glass company cut you new flat pieces and have them sent off to be tempered.
well, i dunno wat to say about that besides its different
so when u use stockglass in the doors all u do is roll the window down and reshape the door around the glass? any other ways or thats it
NOT THE DOOR JUST THE A-PILLOR. YOU JUST PIE CUT THE FRAME AND ADD A SECTION OF SHEETMETAL TO FULL IN THE PIE CUT
i agree there. and good luck cutting tempered
If you look back in the truckin magazine or others there was a 9? something fullsize tahoe 2 dr cut down. He layed the back glass forward. And his rear side glass was madeout of flat glass his front side glass was stock with the a pillar pie cut(I think, thats how i did mine) and the windshield cut down and maybe layd back. For the side glass another option would be a hunt at the wrecking yard for some glass that is simalr or could be close. When i did my side glass on my fullsize i rolled the window down took the 2.5 inches out of the B pillar(door)cut at the top of the A pillar(door)then layed the A pillar back. rolled the window back up then pie cut the bottom of the A pillar. then made a filler piece. Or you could use plexi!LOL
