even though i am planning on saving weight where ever possible, i dont mind the extra from 1/4" wall stuff. then again, im gonna also have a cage inside and its a very short truck for a fullsize (wheelbase is 106") so i very well might run 3/16". if i do have a seperate frame, it will probably be alot like mike alexanders on his yota. narrow run and round tube. thanks peeople.

and ill look into the 60s impala setup, might give me a new idea or something.

my jeep came factory a unibody, no different then bolting the cab down w/ no mounts, just adding more bracing.building and X frame wont be a bad idea sicne your running an irs, the drive shaft wont have to move.

2x3 on a fullsize is nowhere near enough, 2x4 minimum, and 1/16 in difference in wall thickness does amke a difference, it will make a significant difference in the amount the frame will bend over the length of the body.

yes, but although its a fullsize, its really damn short. 106" wheelbase, and the whole thing is only about 15' long.
