truck in idle

Does any body know why when a truck is is park and in idle the speeedometer jumps up and down . any body else had this problem. 2001 ford ranger

IAC(idle air control) valve. what motor?

4.0 sohc

In my experiance with older cars, the speedo jumps when the cable is about to snap....
I don't know about your perticular application. Just a thought.

o they dont have cables its all electronic. sounds like u have a ground wire off some were.
