How To: Grinding Tabs for GM Wheels

Because its the "minitrucker" way. Theres a lot of guys that wanna do this shit but gotta do it on a budget.

so all you opposed to grinding tabs.... tell us why?? there are 6 lugs on a light truck so what does it hurt to not have the tabs there? by boring you risk losing the strength of the metal and the rim could crack..... its a risk either way

exactly it in my case i have 6 kids to house feed and cloth so money is an obect

we are talking 6 lugs on a truck the couldn't weigh more then 2500 lbs...

These trucks were designed to be hub centric, the load of the truck wasnt meant to be carried on the lug studs.

You guys do what you think is the correct thing to do with your hubs. I just dont feel like endangering the lives of myself, my wife, or others that share the roads with us just to save a few bucks.

And people wonder why minitrucks get such a bad wrap! Half of them are rolling death traps that people have cut corners on just to save money.

not to fight about this but any after market rim WILL NOT even touch the tabs!!!!!..the tabs wear designed for "stock" flimbsy rims to help carry a load

when you bore a rim you take away from the rims integraty

sorry i just dont buy into grinding is bad you have to use commen sense with any modification use the correct lug nuts and your good

BLA im done talkin about this crap. The amount that had to be taken off my wheels was minimal. Look at how much material is left by the lug whole on the wheels you just posted. Mines got almost a half inch of material left. I would rather drive on my wheels than those ones.

Everyones got their own opinion about this and i did what i think to be the correct way is. If it was just gonna be me driving this lil truck i would have ground the tabs down and been done with it. But my wife will eventually be driving this truck and she wouldnt know what to do if a wheel fell off and i dont feel like endangering her life to save some dough.
