Will this frame work?

I am going to start building my 61 ford unibody here pretty soon. the front Suspension is leaf springs and the most Common conversion is the Mustang 2 Front clip. BUt the problum is they are getting hard to come by and expensive. So my question is would a 1978 Ford thunderbird Front clip work? I can get a whole car for really cheep if not even free. I would be building a new frame from firewall back.

im sure you could make it work.. anything will work with patience and persistance.. you just hace to take into consideration the width. camaro front clips are often used.. if you wanted to i guess you could pretty much swap any control arm clip up there.. ranger toyota etc!!

u could consider an s10 clip? make it wider if u need too or whatever...just an idea, those seem really easy to work with and u should find one easy..the tbird clip should work as well..i havent done 1 personally tho..good luck

stang clips are a dime a dozen if u go aftermarket. also pinto is the same...

OK then, show me where i can get a MUSTANG 2 clip. For cheep.

ebay it up... there are a ton of aftermarket companys buildig stang2 conversion kits.

What's your definition of cheap?

I used a Torino clip on my truck that same bodystyle, but the S-10 clip would be the best for getting parts for.

wouldnt the S-10 clip be to narrow, since it is such a smaller truck.

maybe a pre 82 camaro or firebird sub frame
