Instrument problem

I have a 2001 s-10 2.2l. When I'm driving down the road all the lights on my dash will come on,(abs,airbag,battery,etc.)and the gauges will all drop out like the truck was shut off, and then return to normal. Has anyone else had a problem like this or know what it is.
