Do I have to attain a release in order to use a picture of an individual's vehicle on merchandise that I am selling for profit? I took the photo at a car show, and there would be no people in the photo that I would be using. Thanks!

if you took the photo, then the photo belongs to you and you may do what you please with it... it sucks in some ways but very nice when it comes to obtaining stock artwork. now would it be respectful to at least ask the individual, yes. but if they aren't around or you have no way of getting ahold of them then don't worry bout it.

Awesome, I may post the pic of the truck that I plan on using and see if I get a response. I would happy to provide one free of said product to the owner of the truck.

when a vehicle registers at a show, when they sign the release there is often something in there about that. just like when i put my truck in world of wheels, there is a photographer that goes around and takes pics of every vehicle. then they turn around and try to sell you the pics. even after you buy the pic at the rediculous price you cant make copies of it anywhere unless the photographer signs a release. so yeah i would say its your pic.
