2000 fullsize sfbd

whats up everyone. ive been out of the scene for close to 5 years now and have got the urge again. i plan on doing a 3" sfbd and i have a question or 2. i know people out there still tow with their sfbds. what do you all do about having your hidden hitch still sit behind the roll pan? i am making my notch out of 2x4 and i thought i could just make the rear of the notch 3" longer so that the rear frame would sit 3" lower. i figured if i would gusset and box the frame it would be ok? what do you think and what are some of the things you all did to keep your hitch?

you can leave the rear frame in the same place, and buy a bolt in hitch receiver that goes behind the rollpan, or make your own hitch receiver, then just get a drop hitch and flip it to whatever your desired height is....

and the 2x4 would be fine....
