Engine driven comps

What are the pros and cons of running a engine driven comp. on a 4cyl. S10

from what i hear....
you need to be a little careful because they will take power from your engine. so if your engine isnt all that powerful it may bog you down real bad taking off from stop lights. this is just what i have heard...

i am running a engine driven on the 4 banger yota and yes it will bog down the motor but nothing to worry about and oil and water in the lines is the only thing i say you have to worry about.
