Those of you that have classic dashes installed .................how much of a pain in the ass is to fit just right?? I'm considering doing this, but im more curious on how it mounts inplace

it most certainly almost never is just a bolt in thing... min is a pain in the ass and is taking a good bit of metal fabrication to get it to look right. then you have to built supports and mounts and make sure it can hold steering if the steering is hooked to it.. etc etc....

Its alot of work. I have a 55 pontiac dash going into a 88 s10 that I had to section out 6 inches, re make the steering colum section, re radius the back to fit the windshield, re make the instrument cluster so the angle is right and build new end caps so it will flow into the doors. Mounting it is the easy part, making it fit not so.

you may want to find one that ISNT welded to the car/truck....i believe a lot of them were. i know mine is, as is all 67-72 f100 dashes. the look bad ass without the dash pad though!

i figured the fitting part would take some work, just wasn't sure about the mounting part

Just gotta drive about 2 hrs to pick it up. I want to say my 78 F100 i use to have was welded in, just can't remember
