I am a fireman in AZ. I did NOT go to NY to help after the collapse. DOES IT PISS ANYONE ELSE OFF WHEN YOU SEE THOSE PICTURES? I can not stand seeing pictures of the World Trade Center and especially the planes just before they hit. Maybe it is Patriotism. It makes me want to snap a neck or something.

Ok, I'll post a good story.

My step dad is a battalian chief at CALFIRE (used to be Consolidated Fire) here in Auburn, CA. The fire department had a fundraiser for the families of the firefighters involved in 9/11 about a week after it happened.
We raised about $60,000 in one day, in our town of 13,000 people. We had traffic STOPPED on the highway, because people were giving cash, or empting out their coin trays.

It was amazing to see everyone come together, and give what they could to help out the families involved. I will never forget that day.

i helped deliver one of 15 new silverados GM donated to the NYPD righta fter it happened.

I was supposed to be there for a meeting (in new york), but i had college, so my boss made me stay back, He was stuck in NYC for 5 days because he couldn't get a flight back or a rental car.

That was a s#!ty day for all, I'm a truck driver and was headed to Manhattan that morning, didn't make it in due to the attacks but seen the second tower fall from a distance. All the police and firemen from surrounding areas of Jersey were rushing to get over. It was a day no one could ever forget.
