so my wife hit a curb going way to fast in our denali. so it took out a three inch chunck of the lip and now wont make a bead. can it be fixed its just cracked? I would post a pic but i suck at it. Is there any place around sac ramento that would dont care if it looks jacked i cant find the wheel.
i fix aluminum wheels that are cracked or bent, but if theres a chunk broke off its kind of a gamble to try to make a piece and fuse it to a cast wheel....
its still in place. out of whack and cracked. thanks
is it on the face of the wheel? reason asking, if you find someone to fix it, assuming its chrome, they will have to grind the chrome back about 3/4" on both sides of the crack, then theres a possibility of more chrome lifting depending on the heat.... we normally only fix wheels that are cracked in the center of the hoop or on the inside lip...
the lip agaisnt the bead. im not to worried about the affects of heat on the finish just want it fixed. shes rolling around town on the the original 16s and dont want the rearend to got to crap

My girl hit a pothole with her 18's & cracked the lip & it pushed itself off the tire. I took the tire off & was able to beat it back in place...after that I grinded out asmall grove on the top so I could tig weld itcause it was aluminum. I welded the front of the rim & the rear...the reason for the groveon the front was so that the weld could get down deep so when I grinded it smooth it would still be strong. Its still going strong with no leaks & it balances out everytime!! I forgot to mention that her rimswere black so all I had to do was repaint where it got damaged!!
