Is it possible to plastic weld stock plastic fuel tanks? I have a 05 Sport Track im working on and I need to take a few inches out of it height wise so the truck can lay without draggin it. Also does sanybody know of any place that plastic weld stuff like that in the houston area?

its possible my metalshop teacher could do it

but just cut it and make the lines as close to perfect as you can and epoxy the shit out of it and/or use fiberglass resin to seal it over the epoxy

It might be easier for a fuel cell.I just had a custom fuel cell made for my Sport Trac. Its still under the bed.

I want to put a fuel cell on it but the owner if the truck wants to stick with the stock tank. I'll see if I can convince him to go with the cell

build one out of metal that fits the factory location.

gas will seep through pretty much anything you try to seal it with.... the shop up the road from the one i work at specializes in plastic welding.... get a plastic welder from harbor freight and goto town!

I had no clue they sold plastic welders at HF, Im gonna have to make a trip up there with my 20% Off Coupon!!!

dont do it, its a bad idea, theres not much that will seal it back, also dont use opoxy or fiberglass resign cause gas will eat right thru it, its safer to either buy a new tank or build one out of metal
