painting chrome

whats the correct way to prep chrome for paint ? thanks in advance

technically, chrome shouldnt be painted. My front bumper is factory chrome. I hit it with the DA and 80 grit, and then primed it. Bulldog might help, but i doubt much. I havent had any spots flake to the chrome. Just a ton of rock chips to the primer.

if you have access to a sand blaster you can lightly blast it just etching the surface, but don't get on it too much or the chrome will start to turn loose
