So I was driving home this morning on the 101 and as i was going along i noticed something wasn't right. It Felt like my tire was flat because it sounded like solid wheel hitting the pavement. So I got off the next exit, pulled into a parking lot and checked to see if the tires were flat. Nothing. Looked under the bed, nothing. It was still dark out so i didn't notice anything else wrong. I decided I'd let the truck chill for a little and then try again because I needed to get home. So i started it up and went on my way. I was in the turning lane to get back on the highway when i heard it again.. only worse. I pulled over right there in turning lane and got out because i knew something wasn't right. When i got out to look my entire rear left wheel was tilted underneath my fender and completely off the axle, and on the ground next to it was one lug.. the rest were gone. 4 of the 5 lug bolts snapped and the 5th lug stripped off. Thankfully i pulled over when i did because that last lug on the ground was the only thing holding my wheel on. So i sat there.. 4 1/2 hours and 2 tow trucks later I got it to a mechanic and had it fixed..
here's some pictures of the wheel when we dropped it off at the mechanic...

no damage to the bed luckily. the wheel was pinned down by the axle so it stayed in place

yikes.... in all seriousness atleast there wasnt damage and you're ok.
Where's Jerome when you need him??
And looks like you for sure hit something major because how is it possible for studs to simply break?
Whoops I almost forgot, Didn't Mike just remove Jerome's spacers he had on there??? Sounds Like someone needs to adjust their impact gun settings

DAMN be carfull, I would go ahead and check all the rest of them...the torque on that truck should be no more than 120 on the lugs

yea def. retorque them but 120 is too high they are only suppose to be at 80 dont want to overtighten them

ya thats true....120 is max though. I usually torgue 12mm studs to 100 just to be sure. If they break at 120 they need to be replaced.

No telling how many times they have been ran off and on again with an impact. I would think they would streach out and need replacing after a while like ubolts.
