help me decide! daily dodge vs. torsion-style mazda

ok. so i was getting excited about bagging my dakota. mainly because i'm gonna be doing most of the build if i do it. but after looking into it, i'm kinda wondering if a dakota is the best first project. even though the guy helping me has YEARS of experience and put out some nice rides, i'm thinking i might be in for a little too much. i'm trying to limit my budget as much as possible, dodge i was looking around 2200 bucks to be laid out when all is said and done. i know that's about an average price. but i might be able to get my hands on either an old mazda or isuzu. from what i've seen, torsion trucks tend to create less hassle, so it should be easier. and i'd still have my daily for daily use, so there'd be no time constraints. but i've wanted to bag my dodge since i bought it. what do you guys think???? mazda or dodge?

Im no expert but I think mazdas are more of a common laid out truck so Id think itd be easier to work on a mazda rather a dakota.

and i know the "don't let others decide for you / do what you want the most" replies are common. i'm not trying to build something someone else wants me to, i'm trying to see what people think would be a smarter option before i get in too far with either one.

Thats true man. Personally Id go with the Mazda.

if you build the mazda you will still want the dakota bagged cus thats your original plan. i woukd build the dakota cus thats your original plan of attack and buy the masda crank the torsians and drive that daily

by the way, anyone know if the mazdas have problems with the oil pan hitting like the pups do?
