which to build? 91 s-10 or 78 f150

i need help to figuire out which truck to build. help me out guys. i have a 91 s-dime stripped and ready to bag and cut just need to due the work or i have my daily which is a 78 f150 that needs alot of body work like a new bed and doors and other stuff. i have all i need for either like bags, valves,switches, 4 link and can get a canti setup from a friend if wanted but my wife is tired of the extra bin rent for the s-10. i dont know of many old fullsizes done but i know s-10 and played alot. any input is needed.

Well I am not a ford fan but you dont see many old school fords done But everyone has S10s I would do the old ford either way good luck and keep us posted with some pics

I say ford too. BUT, it all depends on how much of a challenge you are up for. S10s parts are a dime a dozen and are considerably cheap. Laying one out is easy and the resources out there if you get stuck on something are everywhere. It really depends on what kind of challenge you are looking for. Good luck with whatever you go with.

yea i would say the ford! i seen a 78 at 06 indy bash and it was sweet baged on like 20's go with the ford

thats two different monsters by far. do you want to clip or full frame a truck, or do you just want to cut up the stock pieces and MAYBE back half the truck? ford is going to require mass amounts of money when looking at it beside the s10. let alone more labor by far. chevy clips are fairly basic with measurements and minor mods like oil pan and steering.

You CANNOT lay out a 79 or lower f150 or 100 or whatever they wee called in 78, without a new clip of some sort.

73-79 were all f100's i believe, no?



I say this all as I swear those pre 80 trucks are ALL twin I-beam setups, not like the newer rangers.
