stereo wiring

I need to know what wires are which for the stereo in a 99' s-10. im wanting to put a new system in bbut dont know what wires are which.

Radio 12v orange + radio harness
Radio Ground black - radio harness
Radio Ignition dk. green + radio harness
Radio Illumination gray (dimmer) + radio harness
Factory Amp Turn-on N/A
Power Antenna N/A
LF Speaker +/- tan - gray +,- radio harness
RF Speaker +/- lt. green - dk. green +,- radio harness
LR Speaker +/- brown - yellow +,- radio harness
RR Speaker +/- dk. blue - lt. blue +,- radio harness

trick to GM speaker wiring. light colored wires in the front are positive and the darks are positive in the rear.

why don't you just buy a wiring harness? It plugs straight into the stock plug, then all you have to do is butt connect from the radio to the pigtail side of the harness. or you could spend about $50 at circuit city, they have harness that go from stock plugs to a universal plug, then from the universal plug to your stereo harness. Saves a shitload of time.

i agree with jumbo, if u dont already know the wires, ur gonna cause more headache and problems then just buying a damn harness, plus its like half the time to sit there and screw with the damn wires....

buying a harness is the way to go any time you can elimanate splicesits always better plus if you decide to go back to stock you can just plug the stock radio back in

buy the dash kit and wiring harness on ebay for like $15 total. or buy your head unit from crutchfield and get it for free with free shipping.
