ok i know there is prolly hundards of posts on this topicbut im lazy so im gonna ask anyways. Im lookin at this bagged 97 dakota is there anything special i should be lookin for to see if its worth buying or not? i looked at the bag mounts already and they look like the done right but thats from what i could see from crawling under it. I havent got to see how the bed looks yet cause its got a flush mount cover on it. anything else i should look for let me know just wondering if its worth it or not. thanks in advance to those that respond

you know whats clean and whats not from looking at this site im sure. look at the welds, should resemble a stack of quarters or close to it, not bird shit piles. also you can tell how something is built by looking at it.this is some basic work IMO that is functional and safe for the road. good luck

a good way to check for fast leaks is to:
1) bring soapy water in a spray bottle with you and spray everythign down while looking at it.
2) lock up the truck and have a conversation about the truck. check to see how far it has dropped in a 5- 10 min time period.

finally i got to take a good look at the truck. its not in that bad of shape alot less miles then i thought couple things need to be takin care of little things (door poppers and new lock for bed cover) only thing that kinda shocked me was the fact thats its not notched ::shrugs:: all well if i decide to get it complete redesign is planned. got a couple ideas but that all depends on if i actually do decide to get the truck

I second the check wiring idea.Make sure the compressors are wired and most importantly fused correctly. I see piss poor wiring all the time.
