spray bomb on bare metal

can I use a etching primer srpay bomb on bare metal before I use a high build primer from a gun.I don't have much bare metal to really use a gun to apply self etching.I will paint later with acrlic enamel as my body work is not that great yet so I usually fix it better each time,thanks

if your gonna do that, i would use the SEM brand spray bomb etch primer.
