Avalanche body cladding B/S

Can anyone help witha tip on how the lower piece that is attached to the tailgate of the Avalanches comes off? I cant get it off, and i keep poppin paint, due to someone elses shitty prep work, it started peeling, and i cant get it off to fix it right? Help Please
