When I bought my truck (2 weeks ago)it came with a brand new a/c unit in the box. I mean this kit has everything! I was just wonderin if I could turn the a/c compressor into an engine driven. I'm sure there has been a post on here about this, but I don't know how to search the forums... OK! I'm just too lazy to look. Well any input on this would be sweet. Hit me up.

he means and engine driven air compressor. honestly ive heard people do it and ive heard people burn the stock ones out but it takes more work and still isnt as good as a york 210. just use a york in the first place i know you will be happier.

It depends on what brand it is, but many factory compressors will work. (I'm not framiliar with a 22re). York & Sanderson are the two that I know of. Some compressors need back pressure such as the ones on s10's. So you can't convert those as easily. On my Dakota, I just drained the freon (sp?) out of it, removed the condensor, put an oiler on it, and ran a line out of the other side to the tank. works awesome.
