You could lower the motor and run an edelbrock air filter, they are pretty low profile and work great. You will most likely have to fabricate a new base plate for it to mount to your throttle body, but its a great affordable alternative. But I'm with everyone else do what it takes to keep a stock hood on it. Here is a pic of my wifes truck with the Edelbrock filter....
 Your Truck looks killer BTW!

Thanks man! I unbolted the motor mounts this week end and let the motor down to its lowest possible point before i hacked up the header and oil pan and to be honest some parts of the motor will clear and some wont. if I still have to cut the hood some I probable wont take the time of dropping it. I will probably just build a hood for it sadly. the lower half of the body on the damn trucks is just so small and the motors tall.

Well I made the pocket in the core support for the radiator. Before After some cutting Radiator test fit Also moved the wireing harnesses to the center of the firewall and moved the fuse panel to under the dash. Modified all of the pedal assemblies to fit again. Built floorbraces for the seat pan area out of 3/8 solid round rod. Next tool buy will be a bead roller

I've been following this build for awhile. I was hoping you would be able to keep the stock hood but I think the alternative is the next best thing.
If you drag it..., you'll break it. Just fix it and Drag it some more.

i am glad you at least didnt leave the cut hood. on the other hand it looks as though if you would have lowered the motor the stock hood would have worked.

Nice work!, I am usually not a fan of grafted on bubbles and cowls, BUT I think this one looks just right on here. Maybe the higher profile of the factory is helping to blend with the lines of the truck, but it looks really good. Cant wait to see more progress!
