The best ones come from your head, not copying someone else's.

It's not about stealing colors or paint scheme but many folks are viasual learners and need references to come up with there own unique idea... All I ever here ubsay is don't steal from someone else... Bring something productive for a change like some xolors u think look good together... Get off ur high horse... Sorry for the rant but he gets on my nerves with all that... Are u thinking about two colora on the opposite ends of the color chart of somethungb.with a suttle difference??
--------------------------------------------

I'll stay on my high horse bro. Thanks.

The biggest problem is that two-tones have been done to death——like flames. Not saying they're wrong to do, just done a LOT. So it's hard to do something creative and unique since there's so many out there. For my money, I'd say stick to classy colors that look nice together. That seems to be the trend right now. Say like a chocolate brown over a pale cream or two colors that are in the same family... Dark green over a more mint color. Black over just about any color will always look good as a two-tone. Power colors (primary colors) will always be hip but think outside those.

As for the break between them, I think the more creative you can get the better. A good example is "Twisted Tiki" using the bamboo to separate the colors. Consider making your separation in an unexpected place too. There's no law that says a two-tone MUST always break at the top third on the body line. Hope this helps.

Thanks—"real pro" is probably a subjective argument.

Oh, something else that's pretty big in two tones is gold leafing or some sort of variegated leafing to separate the colors. Josh Liley's Toyota is a good example of this and one of my favorite Toyotas.

I kept mine simple, they are both Ford ranger colors with a dark purple stripe to seperate. I like using stock colors just in case you have to match it later on. JIMMY
